This painting comes from my time traveling through Georgian Bay, while the weather is moving slowly and always shifting along the shoreline. I'm amazed how much warmth is always stored in the granite from the suns rays, while lying on these rocks. Moments like this stay with me. This work is my way of holding onto that pause, when movement gives way to stillness and the land quietly reasserts its presence.
