Framed Paintings

Merits

...enhance the painting's aesthetic, adding a sense of formality and completion.

...creates a visual boundary and draws the eye to the painting.

Disadvantages

Frames can be expensive, especially custom work.

Frames can limit the painting's visual flexibility and may not suit all styles.

Unframed Paintings

Merits

Often convey a contemporary, minimalist aesthetic.

Eliminates the expense of framing.

Create a more casual and approachable feel.

Allows the painting to take centre stage.

Disadvantages

More susceptible to damage.

May appear unfinished or less polished.

Can look out of place in certain design styles.

**The Commission Process**

The first step in the commission process is choosing the size of your painting which als0 corresponds to your budget.  If you're unsure of the best dimensions for your space, I’d be glad to offer some suggestions.  For instance, do you have a specific location in your  room in your house or office in mind for this work to be hung? 

It is noted that I do have a minimum canvass size, which is currently no smaller then 16x20.  Your painting will be laid-up on a stretched frame, using a all-natural cotton canvas.  Features include an acid-free double-primed surface, ensuring years of longevity without yellowing or fading.  The stretched canvas frame will be 1.5" width (thickness), which is considered "gallery-style".        

A floating frame can also be discussed as an option, which will be an additional cost.   

Commission dimension prices start at $480, varying with size. Custom pieces generally take additional time and effort to create in order to meet your unique wishes.  It should be noted that my current prices are very reasonable and will likely increase in the next coming months.    

After we finalize the details, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot. My goal is to ensure you are absolutely thrilled with your commission piece(s), as that brings me the most joy as an artist.
